The study with management consultants reveals a fundamental problem: ChatGPT makes people better in the short term but leaves no lasting knowledge. At the same time, the ifo analyses show that Germany is structurally under-equipped – only 4.6 percent of groß value added comes from the ICT sector, a significant deficit compared to other countries. While AI tools make individual tasks more solvable, without systematic educational investments the gap between AI users and AI architects will likely grow rather than shrink.

The NIST report signals a system shift: quantum computers could break today's encryption, so US agencies must migrate by 2030.
